Sky Sanctuary Zone
Vs. Super Mecha Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog, savior of Angel Island, has come and gone. With his mission complete, it is up to the island's true protector to keep it safe from here. It does not take long for things to go awry, as the left-behind Mecha Sonic and his cohort, Egg Robo, seek to claim the Master Emerald as their own, a goal their master failed to achieve not too long ago. Knuckles has been transported to the crumbling remnants of the already decimated Sky Sanctuary, and on this remaining foothold, Mecha Sonic reveals himself to the wily echidna. Mecha Sonic also demonstrates an ability that even the Emerald's protector couldn't have foreseen; the ability to achieve a Super Form without the Chaos Emeralds. As powerful as the Master Emerald is, it cannot provide a perfect transformation, and Knuckles sees this, realizing he must take advantage of Mecha's weaknesses before the entire island is lost. Knuckles knows not what will become of himself after this battle, but he does know that he must not lose; this fight is for the fate of his island...

Production Notes:
- Okay, so complete redo of a piece I put up in Feb. of 2009. I was going to leave the old one up for a while, give it a grace period before deletion and all that, but there was a darn good reason I redid it from scratch instead of trying to repair it. Again. So just enjoy this.
- The Master Emerald is based off of one of its most recent 2D appearances, in Sonic Advance 3, so that's why it looks the way it does.
