Sonic 3D Blast / Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island - Diamond Dust Zone - vs. Boss

Another situation where the Final Boss [link] was getting lonely, so I'm giving it this for company, and I might just have another 3D Blast boss impatiently waiting to show itself...

Notes:
- Again, as things progressed, my original plan had to change. Would've liked more foreground, less background visible, but I'll take this result.
- As far as the BG goes, I had intended to add ice-capped mountains, but I could find no in game evidence to support the theory that they even existed, so I thought, "Fine, they wanna cut off all views of the far background with massive walls? I'll give 'em massive walls, even if it's going to take twice as long." That's why we have the tiers of ice instead of nice mountains.
- Sonic is by far the most interesting component of this. My plan was to have him put his thumbs in his ears, waggle his fingers, and stick out his tongue, as in the gesture, "Nyaa, nyaa, you can't hit me!" The tongue wasn't shaping up, and with so much of the face covered, the expression was lost. It started to appear that he was skidding, and his pose mostly matched the sprites of the same action, so it turned into that. So, long story short, you decide, is he teasing Eggman while intentionally moving backwards, or skating by the cold air blowers in an epic fashion?
